I'm back down in the Dominican Republic for a bit with Orphanage Outreach helping to lead the Medical and Dental Clinics that we put on in the spring. We've been very busy and have helped a lot of people with their medical and dental needs. Of course, whenever possible I spend as much time as I can with the kids at the orphanage. After being in the states for about five months and then returning to see the kids I have realized how much I missed them and how much I would like to continue to be a part of their lives. I want to always be able to see them and to see them graduate from high school and go on to college. I want to see them have all of the opportunities that I had growing up and to see them have to opportunity to realize their dreams. Recently I started giving little pieces of paper to some of the kids in Junior High and in High School with a single question on it...."¿Qué quieres ser cuando seas grande?"...."What do you want to be when you grow up?" It's been so great to see them return the pieces of paper to me on their own time each with their own answers. Some of the things they write are so interesting and I of course want them to be able to become whatever they want. Nicol, for example, wrote that she wants to be a "world lawyer, and travel to all of the countries." Coral wants to "study art, graphic design, and advertising." Anyway, I'm enjoying the time I have with the kids and looking forward to seeing what some of them become when they grow up!

Good to hear that you are back in your familiar stomping grounds. Bootlegged a copy of your Baja Black Bean salad recipe from my mom the other day. That salad is super grubbin! Stay safe.
Hi Mr. Adams,
I just came across your blog. It's so nice to read about someone who has been in Jaibon with the boys. I just got back this past Saturday after spending three weeks with them. I love the picture of Reinaldo (he looks so young!) and how to talk about him and Manuel and the picture of you and Dani. I would love to hear more about your experiences. It's always nice to have someone who understands what Jaibon is like.
